Tom Brady’s Netflix Roast: Humor and Kraft-Belichick Reunion

Three months before his debut as Fox Sports’ lead NFL analyst, Tom Brady faced a barrage of jokes from comedians, former teammates, and his longtime coach at a Netflix comedy event. Despite the onslaught of one-liners during the three-hour “The Greatest Roast of All Time” at The Forum, Brady proved he could handle the heat.

Before the event, Brady likened the experience to a football game, saying, “You run with a game plan, and then you adjust on the fly.” He described the roast as reminiscent of his years in locker rooms, accustomed to playful jabs.

Comedian Nikki Glaser called the event “the comedians’ Super Bowl,” noting the heightened competition as everyone aimed to outdo each other. Brady endured more “blitzes” from a lineup of comedians and sports figures than in a typical NFL game, with host Kevin Hart declaring no topic off-limits—including jokes about Brady’s ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen.

One tense moment occurred when Jeff Ross referenced a controversial topic involving Patriots owner Robert Kraft, prompting Brady to confront him, though his remarks were caught on microphone.

The evening also featured a rare public display between Kraft and former Patriots coach Bill Belichick, who shared a stage shot after some encouragement from Hart. Kraft later honored Belichick, acknowledging their shared successes and calling him the greatest coach in NFL history.

Earlier, during a pre-taped segment, Belichick humorously claimed credit for the Patriots’ success, highlighting his partnership with Brady. The roast also included a light-hearted exchange between Brady and Belichick, with Brady quipping about Belichick’s achievements post-Brady.

Throughout, Brady showed his willingness to laugh at himself, a trait praised by Hart and former teammate Drew Bledsoe, who remarked on the roast’s camaraderie reminiscent of daily locker room interactions.
