Kevin Turen Passes Away at 44: Producer of ‘Euphoria’ and ‘The Idol’

Kevin Turen, known for producing “Euphoria” and “The Idol,” has passed away at the age of 44.

Turen’s sudden death occurred over the weekend. Currently, the cause of his death remains undisclosed. He leaves behind his wife, Evelina, and two sons, Jack and James.

His father, Edward Turen, expressed in a statement on Sunday, “Kevin was incredibly unique, and his absence will deeply be felt in this world.”

Turen’s early work included producing Larry Clark’s “Wassup Rockers.” He subsequently collaborated with Sam Levinson on “Malcolm and Marie,” and produced projects like Trey Shultz’s “Waves,” Nicholas Jarecki’s “Arbitrage,” Nate Parker’s “The Birth of a Nation,” Kornel Mondruczo’s “Pieces of a Woman,” Ramin Bahrani’s “99 Homes,” and Ti West’s “X” trilogy.

His television projects also featured Levinson’s “Euphoria” and “The Idol,” as well as Olivier Assayas’s “Irma Vep.”

Jay Penske, CEO of Deadline’s parent company PMC and Turen’s close friend, remarked, “Kevin’s true passion was his family and friends, despite his numerous accomplishments in Hollywood. He took immense pride in his children. He and Evelina were committed to raising their children with strong values, focusing on making a positive impact globally. The collective heartbreak we feel for his family is immense, and his loss profoundly affects us all. Kevin’s absence will be deeply felt in this community, and he was indeed one of the most promising talents of our times.”

Born on August 16, 1979, in New York City, Turen pursued cinema studies at Columbia University before relocating to Los Angeles.
