50 Cent is in the clear, for now, regarding his microphone toss incident during his L.A. show back in August. The incident resulted in a spectator suffering multiple lacerations to her head and face.
Power 106 radio host Bryhana Monegain filed a police report on August 30, and initially, the case was presented to the L.A. County D.A. as a felony. However, it was later transferred to the L.A. City Attorney’s office. Now, the City Attorney’s office has informed TMZ that no criminal charges have been filed against the 48-year-old rapper, and they will not be filed as long as he maintains a clean record. The case will remain open for one year from the date of the incident, with the possibility of re-evaluation for potential criminal charges should any further incidents occur between 50 Cent and Bryhana.
The incident took place during 50 Cent’s performance at L.A.’s Crypto.com Arena, where video footage captured him angrily throwing his microphone into the crowd, striking Bryhana in the forehead and necessitating medical assistance. Technical difficulties during the concert had frustrated 50, but his lawyer Scott Leemon emphasized that 50 Cent would “never intentionally strike anyone with a microphone.”
